Ground-breaking ceremony for the Tourmaline on the Lauchernalp
On Friday, September 27, 2024, the ground-breaking ceremony for the "Tourmaline" project took place on Lauchernalp, marking a key milestone in the extensive "Lauchernalp Swiss Resorts" project. This ambitious project, which will be implemented over the next five years with an investment of CHF 250 million, comprises the development of modern accommodation, including apartments with a rental obligation and exclusive chalets. In addition, the resort will be enriched by a variety of leisure facilities, including wellness areas, a spa, a swimming pool, various restaurants, local retail stores and a parking garage.
The aim of the project is to position Lauchernalp as a first-class destination away from mass tourism. A 40% increase in gondola guests last season underlines the growing demand for high-altitude resorts, particularly in light of the current shortage of accommodation in the region.
